Starting this September, AdWords will enforce close variant matching for all exact and phrase keywords. Google reported advertisers using close variant matching are receiving an average of 7% more exact and phrase match clicks with comparable click through and conversion rates.

AdGooroo’s latest study found five of the top personal luxury brands spent nearly $22 million on paid search in Google AdWords during 2013. Despite the luxury brands high budgets for ad spend, AdGooroo discovered the top luxury retailers outspent the luxury brands on paid search in 4 major product categories in 2013.

Internet Retailer: Major Advertisers Spend More on PLAs Than Text Ads
AdGooroo’s new study reported the top 20 advertisers spend an average of 63% of ad spend budget on Google Product Listing Ads. According to AdGooroo, the top 20 advertisers using PLAs see a higher average click through rate of 5.96% while text ads saw an average click through rate of 4.91%.
