Last week, the Retail Merchants Association and other retail groups lobbied federal law makers in an attempt pass legislation for online sales tax. Currently, online retailers are only required to collect sales tax if they have a physical presence in the state an item was sold. The proposed legislation would require all online sales to be taxed, regardless of a physical presence.
