We were just told by a representative at Shopzilla that only accounts that have been inactive for 15 months or longer are subject to the $25/month dormant account fee.
Yesterday, we received an email for multiple accounts. Shopzilla is informing all of its merchants that it will charge any ‘dormant’ accounts with a $25 monthly charge unless merchants “re-activate your account, request a refund of your remaining balance, or [deplete your] balance.”
Here’s a copy of the email:
Do you know your Shopzilla account [Merchant ID HERE] has a pre-paid balance of $39.1836 but has been inactive for over a year? We would like to have you back! Shopzilla has introduced many new features and enhancements to help merchants optimize their product listings and increase their sales revenue. You can reactivate your campaign by logging into your account at http://merchant.shopzilla.com. If you need assistance or have any questions, please email us at [email protected] and a dedicated Account Specialist will contact you shortly.
If you would like a refund of your balance please fill out the refund form and fax to the number indicated on the form. The refund form is available for download at: http://merchant.shopzilla.com/docs/Refund_Form_DormAcct_US.pdf
Refunds will be issued by check only. For privacy and security purposes we will not be issuing credit card refunds. Please allow up to 6 weeks for your refund to be processed.
Accounts that have been inactive for 15 months or more will be assessed a $25 dormant account fee. The fee will be deducted every month until you re-activate your account, you request a refund of your remaining balance, or your balance is depleted. To avoid these charges, please re-activate your campaign or request a refund of your balance by 2/1/2013.
