One of the most decorated firms in the business continues to push culture forward in a year marked by a continued pandemic and the ‘War For Talent’
NEW YORK, NY, December 20, 2021 – Tinuiti, the largest independent performance marketing firm across Streaming TV and the Triopoly of Google, Facebook, Amazon and one of the most decorated in the industry for culture awards, debuted three innovative employee activations in a year marred by pandemic fatigue and war on talent.
The three programs designed to grow employee happiness united employees in person for the first time, prioritized mental health over profits, and gave back to local communities across 40 states, 9 time zones & nearly 450 cities. The activations—called Second Impressions, Recharge, and Thankful Giving—will continue to evolve in 2022 as Tinuiti cements its place as the industry leader in innovation when it comes to agency culture.
“I always say ‘what you got you here won’t get you there.’ So even though we’ve been awarded multiple times over consecutive years for our culture, we press on to continue to innovate ways to grow employee happiness,” said Tinuiti CEO, Zach Morrison. “What I love most is that each of the three initiatives are ideas reinvented for the pandemic era of work that build on our pre-existing culture-building foundations.”
Second Impressions
First impressions matter. Like many companies, the pandemic forced Tinuiti to shut its physical office doors in March 2020. Since then, Tinuiti’s talent growth surged bucking the trends associated with industry talent wars, increasing its YoY workforce by 53% and surpassing the 1,000-employee mark. “Second Impressions” was created to bring together employees who had never met in-person at a Tinuiti office location. Employees submitted nominations on why they should be selected. The experience gave people the chance to get a Second Impression of the co-workers they have already bonded with so they could continue doing their great work together in an even deeper, more meaningful way.
Recharge
Pandemic fatigue is real. To help employees focus on mental health and reset, Tinuiti created a week-long, all-employee, paid time-off, company-mandated holiday in early October called “Tinuiti Recharge”. Employees were asked to step away and do what makes them happy outside of the office in order to reenergize themselves before the holiday season and the dash to 2022—benefiting Tinuiti and the business of its clients.
Thankful Giving
On Giving Tuesday, Tinuiti introduced “Thankful Giving,” a year-round employee-driven philanthropic movement that spotlights two guiding principles in Tinuiti company life: “talent over geography” and “culture of ownership.” Tinuiti understands employees don’t work from home, they work from their communities and home extends beyond their doorsteps and into their neighborhoods and towns. Therefore, Tinuiti asked employees to share local organizations that have had the most impact on them and their communities throughout the pandemic.
Tinuiti will continue the program into 2022 making it a yearlong initiative. Thankful Giving is a local extension of its long-running giving partnership with Fabretto, whose mission is to empower underserved children and their families in Nicaragua to reach their full potential, improve their livelihoods, and take advantage of economic opportunity through education.
Tinuiti’s People-First Approach
Unlike most other marketing agencies and tech companies, Tinuiti has been a “talent over geography” company since the beginning, allowing the top minds in the industry to work from wherever they’d like. Tinuiti made its first remote hire back in 2008 and a decade later, the majority of its employees worked remotely. Tinuiti has tapped its agency persona as a highly imaginative and supportive independent agency to create a thriving work culture where people want to give their best every day and have fun while they’re at it—while also being recognized for the work they do, receiving generous benefits and being seen and heard at their jobs. The company is currently hiring for multiple roles across divisions to keep pace with growth.
Tinuiti has received numerous awards for its culture including ranking #1 in Ad Age’s 2019 and 2020 Best Workplaces, receiving an Employer of the Year and Top Boss awards from Digiday, and being named to Inc.’s Best Places to Work list in 2020 and 2021. The firm pulls in Employee Net Promoter Scores unheard of in the industry with a consistent eNPS of over 50 and ranks way above the industry average for its employee retention rates.
