The results are in! Elite SEM collected a total of 1,269 items of food to be donated to the Food Bank for New York City. The winning team bringing in the most items was from our own NYC office. Pat Hayden, Emma Fernandez, and Ben Arabov collected 244 items throughout the 4 weeks of our food drive!
Elite’s First Annual Food Drive included all Elite offices across the country. Our San Francisco, Atlanta, and Philadelphia offices donated cans of food to local food banks that service their own cities. Elite’s very own Zach Ciperski, who has been spending some time in the Philippines this year, also chipped in to the company drive his own way. Knowing that the poverty is critical social issue the Philippines and that many of the people live on an average of $1 US dollar a day, Zach picked up a wide variety of hygiene products from soaps, toothbrushes, to cotton balls. Those items were then dropped off at a local indigenous community that will be helping 40 families. We are very proud of Zach and all of the efforts from all of our offices and employees.
We’re also very proud of you! Our corporate “virtual” food bank also received $120 in monetary donations. For every $1 donated 5 meals can be provided to New Yorkers in need. The Food Bank for NYC is one of the country’s largest food banks working to end food poverty throughout the five boroughs. In addition to the 1.5 million of New Yorkers that rely on the Food Bank’s programs & services, because of Hurricane Sandy even more people are in need than normal. We urge you that if you are able to, please help out! We’ll continue to keep this page live until we hit our $250 goal.
