TED Talk Tuesday: 3 Things I Learned While My Plane Crashed

By Tinuiti Team

It’s really strange to think about what would go through your mind in the face of death. Ric Elias shares his experience on Flight 1549, the plane that crash landed in the Hudson River, and the thoughts he had during what he perceived to be his final seconds. (Key takeaways at the bottom.)

Ric Elias: 3 Things I Learned While My Plane Crashed

Lessons Learned:

Hopefully you never find yourself in similar circumstances, but we can gain from Elias’s near tragedy. Elias thought of 3 things during his crash:

1. The relationships he could improve

2. Getting rid of negative energy in his life

3. Being a great parent

It’s very interesting that Elias and Steve Jobs, in his speech “How to Live Before You Die,” shared the same insight. You really do have to live every day like it’s your last because in the face of death, very few things matter.
