Influencer Marketing is a powerful strategy that incorporates social media and content to build relationships with trusted people in your industry and drive your brand’s message to a target audience.
Whether an influencer’s audience is small or large, they have the ability to communicate valuable content to your current or potential consumers via blogs or social media in a way that traditional advertising efforts might not be able to.
According to eMarketer, 81 percent of advertisers who have used influencer marketing judged it to be effective.
Now it looks like Amazon is building out it’s own resource of social influencers through the latest beta – Amazon Influencer Program.

Introducing the Amazon Influencer Program
According to Amazon, the Amazon Influencer Program is exclusively designed for social media influencers with large followings and a high frequency of posts with shoppable content.
An intuitive vanity URL makes it easy for customers to find, browse and buy the products introduced to them through social media influencers.
The program allows influencers to earn fees for purchases they drive through their social media platforms.
This program is currently in beta mode and open by invitation only.
If you happen to be a social media influencer interested in joining this program, you can apply for an invitation in three steps:
- List the URLs of your social media accounts in Amazon’s Public Profile Page Settings.
- Verify your email address is correct in Amazon’s Account Settings.
- Click here to confirm your interest in the Amazon Influencer Program.
Pro-Tip: Due to the volume of submissions, you will only be contacted by Amazon if you are invited to the program.
Q. How do I know if I qualify as an “Influencer” according to Amazon’s standards?
A. As Amazon evaluates requests for invitation to the Amazon Influencer Program, they will look at various factors including but not limited to the number of followers on various social media platforms, engagement on posts, quality of content and level of relevancy for Amazon.com.
At this time, there is no set cut-off and influencers across all tiers and categories are represented in the program.
Q. If you are an Amazon Associate and would like to have an Amazon presence such as the influencer page and vanity URL, can you get one?
A. Keep in mind that, this beta program is optimized to meet the needs of social media influencers just as the Amazon Associates program is optimized for affiliates with websites.
At this time, Amazon is not able to support all features for both programs. If you are an existing Amazon Associate and a social media influencer, you may qualify and Amazon encourages you to apply here.
Additional Information for retail brands about Amazon’s Influencer Program:
- At this time, Amazon has not revealed whether the new social influencer program will offer higher commissions than their Affiliates Program.
- Amazon is not working directly with the influencers on product selection.
- Amazon is not providing free products to influencers accepted into the program.
- The products (which can include anything sold on Amazon) must be selected by the influencer.
