CPC Strategy & Google Team Up for AdDiego 2017

By Tinuiti Team

In preparation for the Q4 holiday shopping rush, CPC Strategy successfully executed “AdDiego 2017” our first in-person, full day conference.

Sponsored by Google, the invite-only event gathered 100+ brands and professionals in downtown San Diego on August 24th to discuss cutting edge PPC, Paid Social and Amazon strategies.

Introducing AdDiego 2017

Although CPC Strategy is known as one of the leading advertising agencies in the country, this was our very first FREE event for PPC professionals and brands.

Held at the sky-level University Club Atop Symphony Towers, the conference featured experts and innovative speakers from:

Rick Backus, CEO and co-founder of CPC Strategy, kicked off the day with a hard look at the state of ecommerce-centric paid advertising in Q4 2017.

“We understand that success on shopping and advertising channels requires the ability to connect relevant products with shoppers at all parts of the buying process – from brand unaware markets to repeat purchasers.”

“We’re here today to hear from industry thought leaders, share ideas on where we see the state of eCommerce marketing heading, and to emphasize the opportunities where we believe brands and retailers stand to benefit the most, especially in Q4.”

Following a light breakfast, attendees also heard from several experts including:

Margo Werner, Global Product Lead, Attribution, at Google.

Lewis Brannon, Paid Search Manager at CPC Strategy presents the latest in Search.

David Chung, Mobile User Experience Evangelist at Google.

Additional expert speakers from CPC Strategy included:

1-1 Strategy Sessions

Throughout the day, the event also offered 1-1 strategy sessions with PPC experts and sales representatives to help attendees prepare for some of the biggest shopping days of the year including Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

George Anastopoulos, CPC Strategy Account Executive discusses Q4 preparation with AdDiego attendees.

“Over the last decade CPC Strategy has prided itself on not just being an ‘agency’ but a thought leader, creating groundbreaking content for retailers and marketers across a range of digital formats from white papers, to case studies, to webinars,” Nii A. Ahene, COO, CPC Strategy said.

“Teaming up with Google to provide a similar experience through a real-life learning event marks the natural evolution our mission – creating order out of the chaotic digital marketing landscape. We’re excited by the prospect of providing more opportunities like Ad Diego to help retailers learn, network, and connect in the future!”

We also spoke with Kestrel Lemen, Event Organizer at CPC Strategy to get her take on how the event turned out.

“We all know taking a day off work to go to a conference is a bit of a risk. Which is why from the beginning of the show our number 1 mantra was: How will this benefit attendees? It’s a question we asked of our speakers, venue selection and agenda planning,” she said.

“From the responses we’ve received so far – it looks like we were successful. This is the part I’m most proud of and can’t wait to replicate.”

“Taste of San Diego”

Following the event, all attendees were invited to “Taste of San Diego”, a special happy hour featuring local San Diego vendors and breweries held at CPC Strategy’s headquarters.

AdDiego attendees were invited to an exclusive “Taste of San Diego” happy hour in the Gaslamp District.

“Taste of San Diego” featured samples from several local craft breweries.

Can we expect more events from CPC Strategy?

If you didn’t get the invite to CPC Strategy’s exclusive event this year, don’t worry – it sounds like there will be many more to come!

“We take a lot of pride in educating the retail community and it was an amazing experience to bring together our clients, future clients, and CPC Strategy team,” Backus said.

“Our team knocked it out of the park and the feedback from the audience validated the effort we put into the show. It was a huge win for us and we are already planning our next in-person event.”
