One space that’s been really interesting to me is mobile payments. Electronic wallets, like Google Wallet, MCX, and Isis are beginning to compete more directly, attempting to herd consumers towards their own wallet applications.
2013 is going to be a big year for wallets, and we expect the mobile market to grow substantially as more and more wallet applications get synced with phones and with retailers, allowing for easy purchases via mobile.
I saw this crazy cool Google Wallet ad in Times Square last week for SMX East. This is one market I would watch closely, and try to get ahead of if I’m a retailer.
By a show of hands, do you have a mobile strategy in place for 2013? Are any readers out there currently using any digital wallet products?
