Mobile conversion rate is top-of-mind for e-commerce and lead generation businesses. More than ever, your customers are interacting with your business on mobile. Whether your users are researching on mobile search or browsing on the Google Display Network, brands and marketers are faced with the challenge of creating the best possible mobile user experience.

Mobile users expect relevant information at their fingertips. Most importantly, they want it as quickly as possible. According to Google, more than half of site visits are abandoned if a mobile page takes over 3 seconds to load. Did you know that a one second delay in page load time on mobile can result up to a 20% drop in conversions? If your mobile site doesn’t load fast enough, you can literally lose customers at the blink of an eye!

Google Announces Accelerated Mobile Pages for Search and Display

Last week Google announced Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) for Search, a new AdWords beta to improve mobile user experience by letting you use incredibly fast-loading AMP pages as the landing pages for your search ads. On average, AMP Landing Pages load in under a second. Anticipated results for the speedier landing pages include improvement in mobile conversion rate and increased return on investment! If you’re interested in potentially testing this beta, reach out to your Paid Search account manager.

Google also announced that they are using AMP technology to serve faster-loading display ads across the GDN. Google display ads served in the new, automatically converted AMP ad format populate up to 5 times faster than regular ads.
